My landlord left me with the pool robot vacuum, but I haven't even bothered to get it out after I put it away after we opened. Since the water is so clear, it takes just a few minutes to capture every speck of debris that collects in the deep end using the leaf/silt net. Getting the robot out...
The yesterday image looks cloudy too, algae bloom already in progress, just has't gone green yet. Today the water polo pool started turning green. And the diving pool is still green... Oh God, Another Olympic Pool Turned Green
In addition to the test kit, you should get some sequestrant for your metals. I used hth Metal Control when I first filled my mil's pool and excessive bleach while filling caused it to go clear brown/green.
Yeah, you're not supposed to submerge the strip, just the lower end and wait for the yellow line to turn black, I use the cylinder from my test kit with about an inch of water in it.
I left mine intact, but I installed it before the water level had reached the level of the skimmer opening so I was able to install the skimmer without the gasket, cut the liner, remove the skimmer and replace the skimmer with the gasket.
Just do a search for above ground pool bonding. Essentially it involves running a continuous loop of 8-guage bare copper wire around your pool with attachments using copper lugs to at least 4 of the legs, any metal ladders, and to a water bond (usually in the skimmer), if the pump doesn't have...
Are you swirling the sample or just waiting? With the SpeedStir I can do the fas-dpd test in about a minute. If you are seeing the sample turn clear, you are done..., no waiting for it to turn back to pink again, it will do this normally after a minute or two and is not an indication that you...
I'd pull the CYA socks out of the skimmer basket until you have confirmed whether or not you have ammonia, just drop them in a bucket of tap water for now. No need to feed the bacteria any more...
You can do an ammonia test without an actual ammonia test kit. Ammonia consumes bleach very quickly and results in high CC, so the way to test using just bleach is to add enough bleach to reach your target level, then test 10 minutes later, if your FC has dropped more than 50% from your target...
If you bond the pool, it will help prevent the rusting, especially if you use a zinc anode. I know intex pools/pumps are not necessarily required nor designed to be bonded, but our inspector required us to bond ours. We had a small amount of rust starting at the base of the leg closest to the...
