Holy high level of salt batman - 7000 PPM! And SWG up and running!

Thanks for the response. I wrote them an email earlier today, to confirm as well. Liquid chlorine served me well for a very long time, but with the cost going up and the availability going down, I bit the bullet and I am glad that I did so far! Looking forward to not have to lug jugs around...

Holy high level of salt batman - 7000 PPM! And SWG up and running!

So I received my Circupool SWG and test kit on Monday. I was floored that my ppm was 7000! I used liquid chlorine for a long time now. Off to the rental store, got a pump, and had to drain nearly 50% of my pool (in phases - drain / fill / drain / fill - to ensure I didn't damage the gunite)...

Going to convert to SWG - need some feedback to ensure I don't miss anything

I notice that the install manual says that the controller is outdoor rated, and says not to install in a sealed enclosure. How has everyone that has purchased these protected them from the elements? The sun can be pretty brutal here in FL, and I imagine over time could cause some issues (not...

Going to convert to SWG - need some feedback to ensure I don't miss anything

Awesome - thanks for explaining that to me. Yeah, I have the Stenner pump setup to inject the right amount right now. I'll have to review the settings but putting that into perspective I could run the 45 for 50% and generate 3.3 ppm. That may be the best solution, at the sales prices they...

Going to convert to SWG - need some feedback to ensure I don't miss anything

I played with the calculator - to make sure I am understanding what I am doing: I enter SWG, enter 3 for the value for the 60, enter the percentage of time I want it to run during the 8 hours I run the pump for, correct? According to the pool school charts - I should be targeting 5ppm of FC...

Going to convert to SWG - need some feedback to ensure I don't miss anything

Fair enough - but I see folks running their pumps 24x7 here - I don't do that and don't plan to do that. This would be my first SWG so I was thinking of getting the 60 so I didn't have to run the SWG for the entire 8 hour pump run time. Wouldn't that work or would that not be ideal?

Going to convert to SWG - need some feedback to ensure I don't miss anything

Yet another pool owner that plans on switching from LC to SWG! So reading here I am looking to take advantage of the deals that Discountsaltpool has and buy an RJ-60+. My current setup is as follows: In ground ~12,000 gallon pool In central FL west of Orlando Have a Pentair Intelliflo pump...

Need programming assistance with Pentair Intelliflow pump

Anyone that is curious - I fixed the issue. The firmware on the Solartouch controller was version 2.0. It worked fine with my older drive, but the newer drive didn't play well with it. I bought a Picket3 on eBAY for $25, downloaded a new firmware from Pentair (version 2.3), installed per...

Need programming assistance with Pentair Intelliflow pump

Just to clarify (I went out and tried again). Program 1 is set to run from 10 - 3:59, and program 5 is set to run from 4:00 - 6:00. Ext Ctl program 2 & 4 are both set to the same speed 2500 RPM (speed 4 is supposed to be solar hold which I don't understand why I can't even disable this useless...

Need programming assistance with Pentair Intelliflow pump

Hi - The pump is setup to run from 10 AM to 6 PM. From 10 to 3:59 PM its set to run program 2 and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM its set to run the next program. It runs with the solar turned off without an issue. The pump starts up at 10 and shuts off at 6. When the solar is turned on the schedule...

Need programming assistance with Pentair Intelliflow pump

Hi all - I have a Pentair Intelliflow pump, and the controller went bad, so I had to replace it. I installed a new controller, but all of my settings that I had setup were now gone. The pump is installed with a Pentair Solartouch controller. I can get the pump to run a regular schedule no...

Regarding Pentair SolarTouch controllers - what is the purpose of the Solar Hold feature?

Just wasted electrons, that's all. I am having an issue though regarding the controller. I had to replace my drive on my Pentair Intelliflo pump. I had setup everything about 4 years ago so I lost the programs. After replacing the drive, I had to re-program the drive. I have my pump setup...

Regarding Pentair SolarTouch controllers - what is the purpose of the Solar Hold feature?

I have a Solar Touch controller, and an Intelliflo pump. When the Solar Touch turns on the heat, it goes into Solar Hold mode, for about 5 min, then turns on the valve. I am not sure I understand the purpose of this feature, as my pump ramps up to speed quickly enough where I would just like...

    Flow rate to solar panels

The Fafco manual seems to indicate that there is a max flow rate of 8 GPM per panel - which ends up being about 56 GPM. I would think that running the panels at 50 GPM should be OK as it's within specs. I'm just wondering how much it will shorten the life of the panels....

    Flow rate to solar panels

I just installed a Pentair intelliflo variable speed pump. I have the Pentair Solartouch solar controller connected to it, as well as a flowvis flow meter. I'm trying to set the recommended flow rate for the Fafco Sunsaver panels that I have installed (2 story house). From what I've read, the...
