    SF Bay Area New Pool

I just let the PB do his thing with the basic latch to pass inspection and I added a padlock on the inside of the gate.

    SF Bay Area build (done!!!)

I had my SWG set at 50% for 8 hours a day with the cover on and the FC still crept up about 4ppm in two weeks. I have to let mine drift down and lower the percentage a tad. Just have to play around with it to see where the FC will maintain itself. Good luck!

    SF Bay Area New Pool

Interesting! Same exact thing happened to our build. The city said our kitchen and fire pit were not on the approved plans. It was only on the “reference” plan that was not approved and stamped reference only. Except ours is fully completed before they called it out on our final inspection...

    Salt Water Pool with Cover

My pool temp topped out at 82 (with no cover installed yet) and is now at 68 with the cover. My pool wasn’t completed when we had those 100 degree heat waves. Did your pool reach the high 80’s with the cover on or without?

    Salt Water Pool with Cover

I’ve been running it for 8 hours at 80% and the FC seems to be creeping up. I bumped the percentage down to 60% to see what that does.

    Salt Water Pool with Cover

Thanks! Good to know. I was a little worried whether or not I should open it up or leave it covered. I’ll make sure everything looks good, brushed, and final test before I cover it back up and leave.

    Salt Water Pool with Cover

My CYA is around 50-60 right now. I think that’s good considering the cover. I’m just worried about keeping it covered up for extended periods for traveling or vacations. Is being covered up for two weeks risky?

    Salt Water Pool with Cover

I do plan to open it up during the day, 2-3 times a week while check and brush the pool. On a nice day, that’s not too windy, I could probably leave it open a bit longer. @wireform what would you consider is too long to keep it covered that CC might be an issue?

    Salt Water Pool with Cover

I have a salt water pool with an automatic cover. The plan is to keep it covered most of the time when not in use. I know I have read that this might affect how much CYA I should have and how much FC I should maintain. Some say that it falls in the realm of an "indoor" pool when kept covered...

Cover Pools Automatic Pool Covers Experience/Reviews?

Yeah, there is drainage in the box, but I still see standing water in there. Maybe the angles of the drainage doesn't quite get all the water out. I should fill the vault with some water to see how high it might get just in case.

Cover Pools Automatic Pool Covers Experience/Reviews?

It looks to be a nice pool cover. All the parts seem like they are good quality. However, after finding out which brand I got and started searching the web, it sounds like many people are not happy with it.

Cover Pools Automatic Pool Covers Experience/Reviews?

Got it, I will flip through the manual to familiarize myself with what they suggest. I can imagine what kind of critters will live in that trench. Even before the cover went in, I could already see webs being formed in there. Does your cover pull a bit of water in there, and it becomes standing...

Cover Pools Automatic Pool Covers Experience/Reviews?

Thanks! I will look into that. I've been noticing my PB is not quite the electrical guru he should be. I have fixed a number of his mistakes.

Thanks for the feedback Monty! So far, the the cover looks great and is functioning as intended. What kind of preventative maintenance have you done with the cover itself to keep it in good shape? All my equipment is Jandy as well. I definitely like the automation so far. One thing that I am...
