    Intex Pump Dead --- Recommendations?

I sure did. Nothing in my local vicinity, unfortunately. But now I have a new question: I didn't fully explain in my first post, but my pump was doing the thing where it runs for about a minute or so and then shuts off with red service light on. I removed the circuit board and found corrosion...

    Intex Pump Dead --- Recommendations?

Thank you! Now I'm torn on what to do. The SWG from Intex I was going to get (26669EG) has horrid reviews.....many say they don't last long at all. I'm wondering if I should get another 2650 or just get the 2100 GPH Sand Filter Pump + SWG 26669EG (and risk getting a bad one). The 2650 unit is...

    Intex Pump Dead --- Recommendations?

My pump decided to die on me so I'm looking for a replacement. The one I had was the 2650 GPH Sand Filter Pump/SWG combo. It was rather expensive to me at over $300. Looking around for a replacement, it appears Intex has separated the SWG system from the Sand Filter Pump. My question is, which...

Intex winterizing - plugging the outlet port

Darn! That's what I was wondering. It's so weird that they didn't make it removable. The one I have still has the outer threads for what could be another strainer. Although, the inner strainer grid looks removable as it has a gap around the edge. When I slowly attempted to remove it before...

Intex winterizing - plugging the outlet port

Thanks, RonsPlc! The strainer grid can't be removed can it? That would make a straight-through hole I could push a plug into. I'm assuming not since I've read a bunch of users have cut much of that away to prevent clogs.

Intex winterizing - plugging the outlet port

Hmmmmm......maybe I'm overthinking this.......what cover would I screw over the top of the press fit plug? Anyone have a pic of what they've done or something for reference?

Intex winterizing - plugging the outlet port

So you're thinking I could find like a pvc piece with inner threads that I can screw on to plug that? I'll have to take that top one apart and check it out.

Intex winterizing - plugging the outlet port

Yea, both the below water skimmer and the eyeball have that cut-off valve. I thought that would be all I needed to do, but when I went to the local pool store and told them that was my plan, they said not to do that because any water trapped inside the skimmer would break it... is that not true...

Intex winterizing - plugging the outlet port

Forgive me if I get my terminology all screwed up. I have the 18x48 intex ultra frame pool with one inlet (to pool) and one outlet (to pump) on the liner wall. I'm going to drain the water down below the inlet and remove it, but then I need a way to plug the outlet that sits 1/2 way down in the...

Newbie wanting to add thru-wall skimmer...

Awesome! I like how simple yours looks and that it's maneuverable if needed and can be easily torn down for storage! Can't wait to get started :)

Newbie wanting to add thru-wall skimmer...

Thanks so much for the information! I feel more confident about doing this now. Your pool is famous! Second image on my search! How do you like those GAME adapters? I want to use the intex hoses so I can store the pump for winter make the disassembly easy.

Newbie wanting to add thru-wall skimmer...

Just a hypothetical question: If we reference the picture I posted above, what happens if you were to close the valve on the surface skimmer and just used the underwater skimmer? I'm curious what happens when all the water gets sucked out of that pipe between the two skimmers....

Newbie wanting to add thru-wall skimmer...

Didn't even think about the water level lowering and pulling in air! Excellent point! See, told you guys I'm a newbie :)

Are you saying a setup like this would be preferred? (found image using google)
