Ok tried this and it stayed full. With the pool off I turned each valve open. The one on the left side when open I didn't hear anything. When I turned the one on the right open I heard slight dribbling. So the new valve on the right side must be defective and I need to replace it again.

Wouldn't the flapper/check valves have fixed that? I'm not sure how to turn them to block water flow through the check valves once the pump is off.

In ground pool. My hot tub used to stay level after the pool pump shut off for the day, but now it is leaking down to right above the jets overnight. I've replaced both flapper valves the one on the spa return and the one on the spa fountain line. This usually fixes it, but it hasn't this...
