CYA testing...and the black dot magic trick

I have a question regarding your last bullet point. I thought if the dot disappeared between 30 and 40 (eg at half way point 35) you would round up to 40 and if it disappeared bang on 30 then it would be read as 30. Have I been doing this incorrectly?

Question re Removing Metals from Filter Using Acid

Just to follow-up on this. I did lots of reading and came to the conclusion adding acid to the skimmer is not a good idea. I re-dosed my pool with the Aqua Treat 3 in 1 with three additions spread an hour apart. All stains on sides and steps that had re-occurred due to metals coming out of...

    Taylor Cl Question

When I first started testing my pool I purchased a Taylor test kit from United States and yes it cost a lot! Fortunately we in Australia can source a local equivalent from a company called Clear Choice Labs. When you need to replace reagents in your current Taylor kit there’s are compatible...

Question re Removing Metals from Filter Using Acid

After doing a metal stain removal treatment, adding a sequesterant and re-balancing pool I am have a daily struggle with the stains reattaching to the pool surfaces. Each time this has happened the pH has been at 7.2 or below and my FC level has been at 5-6 with a CYA of 70. The instructions for...

    CSI Following Stain Treatment

Having just successfully completed a metal stain removal treatment I am very mindful that I must continue to add a maintenance dose of sequester, keep my pH on the low side (not to go above 7.2 for the next fortnight and would like advice on whether to keep it there for good) and that I should...
