Makes since and that is what i was thinking. My filter called for 350lbs and i used 7 50lb bags of AquaQuarts. New to sand filters had DE filter for 5 years.

This is the sand that was on the ground from backwashing. Maybe 1/4-1/2 cup of sand was in the pool. Didn't see any more sand in the pool today. I will backwash on Monday to see if any more sand comes out of backwash. Not sure if this was normal when you first operate a new sand filter

With the main drain off and the deep end skimmer open and shallow end closed it leaked. I hope the deep end didnt develop a leak also. I capped both skimmers and going to run off main drain and see if it still leaks. I would think with a leak there would be air in the line. What is strange...

Yes my multi valve controls the main drain and the deep end skimmer.

The Main drain has always been on. Both skimmers plugged no leak, deep end un plugged no leak, both skimmers unplugged it leaked. I plugged the the shallow end and had no leaking for 10 days. i have not tried blocking just the deep end i might do that tomorrow.
