    Winter cover with a deck

I can't find where I bought it last time. But if you google ultimate winter pool cover, you will get a few places that sell it. I can't believe how much it costs now! For my 30 ft round, it's over $500. I might have to rethink it when this current cover needs replaced.

    Taking Steps out

Two strong grandsons lift ours out! The first few years we had one of them go in the pool and lift while one pulled from the deck. Of course we always waited until the water was super cold. The kids got smart and decided they could do it without getting in.

    Winter cover with a deck

We have never had problems with the wind or leaves doing it this way. The cover has a mesh strip in the center and we do have fine silt on the bottom of pool when we open up in the spring.

    Winter cover with a deck

We have a 30ft round pool with a 4 ft deck all the way around. I buy a 30ft cover. We drilled holes in the end of the deck boards and use rubber tie down bungee straps for tarps. Has worked perfect for us for many years.

    Fill in pool with dirt?

Her cousin owned the pool company that installed the pool. She had him take care of filling it in. I was living overseas at the time, so I don't know many details.

    Fill in pool with dirt?

After my father died and all the kids had married and moved out, my Mom had ours filled in. She had no regrets. It wasn't being used by family and she worried more about liability. Even with fence, she caught neighborhood kids sneaking in late at night to swim.

    Necessity of closing during winter?

I'm in the middle of western PA and my pool freezes sold. Even with you being a little further south, I don't think I'd risk it.

    New liner, slippery feel

Yes, areas that I wiped now feel normal. I feel there was something on the new liner. Perhaps to keep it from sticking together in the box? I ran the dolphin 10 and bottom is feeling normal and I wiped some of the sides and those areas are now fine. Guess I'll never know for sure.

    New liner, slippery feel

We replaced our liner last month. I noticed that the sides and bottom have a slippery feel. I test my chlorine level every day and keep inline with my CYA level. I took a bright white cloth and wiped the sides of the pool and nothing showed up on the cloth. Do new liners have some sort of...

    30 foot round solar cover

I agree to go with a cheaper, lighter one. No matter what price i've paid over the last 12 years, I only get 2 seasons out of mine. When I tried to get the third year, the plastic disinegrates and I have blue plastic pieces floating in the water. I also have a 30 foot round and the heavier...

Check list for replacing liner on 30 ft above ground pool

I ordered my liner over the winter. Didn't have many choices, but I like the deep blue of this one!

    Automatic pool cleaner...

Dolphin E-10. It does the job with the extra fine filter.

Check list for replacing liner on 30 ft above ground pool

We finally have the pool filled and pump going. I added my cya, bleach and baking soda per the pool app. Next is to get the solar pannels and gas heater hooked up. Water is 68 and a lot too cold for me! I want to thank everyone for their help with this liner change!
