    Leak in in-ground pool. Stumped

2 months ago, I noticed a leak of 2.5 inches per day so I called a leak detection company. They 1) pressurized all my pipes (passed) 2) conducted dye test on all jets around side of pool and skimmer basket (passed) and 3) used a microphone type device to listen for a leak at side jets and main...

    Chlorine tablets aren't dissolving

Yes, I have a test kit and my chlorine levels are always low which leads me to shocking the pool once a week @crusemm I live in Sacramento so it's been in the 80s every day for a few weeks now

    Chlorine tablets aren't dissolving

Somewhat new pool owner here and I've noticed my chlorine tablets aren't dissolving. I haven't had to put any new pucks in there for over a month, maybe 2. This is what I've done so far to troubleshoot: -Made sure the dial is at max flow (5) -Took off lid and started pump to make sure water...

@mgtfp Got it. I only had shock powder on hand so I shocked the pool and have kept the pool running since. The suds/soapy film is now gone besides when I splash the water, a little comes to the top and goes away fairly quickly. I'm going to keep the pump running over night as well but seems that...

Baking soda DETERGENT! Not sodium bicarbonate

Okay. Thanks. I only have shock powder on me so I’ll throw some in. Do we think the suds will go away after continuous pumping and chlorine adding? or should I get some defoamer? @JJ_Tex I appreciate all your help. I'm a new pool owner as well

Baking soda DETERGENT! Not sodium bicarbonate

Thank you! Yes, it is from a pool store. I have a 25k gallon pool. So just to be sure, you're saying to throw cyanuric acid in to get it to 40 and then throw shock in?

Baking soda DETERGENT! Not sodium bicarbonate

Thanks for the response @JJ_Tex You think I should throw shock in too? I plan on running pump for 24 hours. My latest results from pool store were 2 weeks ago after i filled pool are below. However, we've had tons of rain since then so my pH was at about 7 this AM, hence why i was going to...
