Can ends of 6' hoses be replaced to shorten length? Have seen screw on ends for vacuum hoses, would they work here?

Rotten, useless critters - mole damage

I don't like to use poison either. However, how does one live trap an underground dweller?

Rotten, useless critters - mole damage

One problem...would have to catch one to find out if it has a star nose...outside of trapping, the other methods are deterrents, not poisons. Haven't read about other more permanent methods.

Rotten, useless critters - mole damage

Thanks for reply. Yes, real moles. I caught one last year, saw ground moving and took shovel and slammed into area. Bingo! But that's a fluke. I have one of these traps and haven't been able to catch anything. I just need to figure out how to block them from doing damage to pool floor.

    CYA loss from water evap?

CYA is not lost due to evaporation. CYA does degrade slowly in pool water and can degrade a bit quicker in warmer water. That and the test is +/-10 ppm to begin with. So a drop from 40 to 30 is not surprising. Liquid stabilizer is quicker to raise the CYA. I should have written CYA test dot...
