Calcium high after water softener refill??

Are you multiplying the number of R-0012 drops by 10, or by 100 as you did on the softened water?

    Just for giggles

Now that I have my water where I want it, I decided to see what Leslies' Accublue got for results vs what I tested out with my kit. My sample this morning vs Leslies' showed: Mine Leslies' FC - 4.2 FC - 2.6 CC - 0.0 CC - 0.0 Ph - 7.5 Ph - 7.8 TA -...

Finally got my CYA under control and do NOT want to have to go through that again. Questions.

Celebratory pic of the results of getting all the stuff just right. Pic taken from 5 feet above the water of my main drain. You can see the type of screws holding the cover down. Pretty Dang clear.

I would double my CYA in less than a season if all I used was tabs. Does it rain enough to really displace 1/2 the water in a pool? I guess it can. Still wish the tabs could be made with less CYA somehow. Oh well, liquid it is. Thanks for all the info guys!

Finally got my CYA under control and do NOT want to have to go through that again. Questions.

Thanks for the info. At almost 2.0 ppm per tab CYA increase, I can see why mine might well have been almost 400. Why do they not make tabs with less CYA for pools that already have plenty? Glad I fired the pool guy.

Finally got my CYA under control and do NOT want to have to go through that again. Questions.

So I did a partial drain and refill to get my CYA under control. At the time, my test kit had not arrived, but Leslies test showed it at 160. I drained 3/4 of the pool and talked my neighbor into allowing me to use his hose to fill my pool as I am on a shared well, and the others would hate me...

Just completed a water change and decided to kick the pool store habit.

I do have a softener, but the connection to the pool filler is unsoftened. I have been considering connecting it to a softened pipe. My well water is actually softer than the city water here. I tested the well water and the CH is 150. I am sure the pool water was super hard before I drained...

Can the chlorine be neutralized for testing PH? I do not think I can hit the neighbor up again, at least not soon.

    ScreenLogic App / Pentair Question

If you are on Pentair ScreenLogic, on your main menu there should be an icon for schedules. On mine it is right below the pumps icon. Hit it and select schedules again and you should be able to schedule it however you see fit. I run a low, high, low schedule, but the choices are pretty much...

Just completed a water change and decided to kick the pool store habit.

Have owned this house and pool that came with it for almost 3 years. Really a pool newbie when it comes to care, but fired the pool guy two years ago and was using the pool store advise and some products for self care. I have not really been having issues with water clarity or algae other...

    David from Mesa AZ.

Hey all- Moved to Mesa AZ almost 3 years ago and inherited a 2 or 3 year old pool with the house. This is my first pool other than the one I had growing up that my father handled the chemicals. I recently did a 70% water change and had been reading up on this forum how to keep it better...
