They were something else! A marvel of the time though. Well new sensor's arrived and it's been replaced. Error has not returned. I'll be closing the whole thing on Monday anyway.

No work done in the last 18 months. Replaced the heater tube and element last year as it had rotted through. Been working great since. Not home now, pictures to follow.

Thank you for the reply. The heater relay seems fine. I can hear the relay click, as well as see 240V at the terminals, when heat is called for. Also, once the set temp has been reached, 0V is seen at the terminals. I can understand the pump running continuously in a stuck heater / high temp...

Either the builder installed it incorrectly, or put it back together incorrectly after he closed it the first season. I'd imagine it will be hard to chase him down at this point. He also didn't remove the water pressure sensor, the first winter, though I did last winter. "Hire the expert"...

I removed the TRV and took photos inside both that and the inlet. I've included them here. All looks "ok" to me. I then ran it without the TRV. I manually shut it off at 1050 / 475º since the writing was on the wall at that point. Of note, my pump was running 2500 RPM / +/- 45-ish GPM...
