    So far so good. The chlorine level was 17 and the pH was 6.8 when I got back from evacuating. I have been checking daily and adding liquid chlorine as needed to get to level up to 20.     I understood that Alkalinity needs to be in the 80-120 range in order to help bufffer the pH properly and was not aware that TA buffers the SPEED of pH rise, rather than the AMOUNT of pH rise.
