Heater Replacement for 18k gallon pool

Wow, looks like Los Angeles is much better than San Diego, we don't have any current rebates for pool heaters. Leslie's had a cyber Monday sale, I put a heater in my cart last night, but didn't pull the trigger, this morning it was $500 more:cautious:(n).

Heater Replacement for 18k gallon pool

The heat exchanger on my Raypak 400k heater finally gave up the ghost. I'm in San Diego. Suggestions and estimated cost for replacement? I did a brief search, it looks like Raypak is still a good heater. . .

ISO: Automation Installer in So Cal Carlsbad

The equipment pad is on the left side of the second pic, and the valves are under the stairs where the red boxing dummy is located. To hardwire the valves, I'd have to cross a cement walkway somehow, or build an arch across the equipment pad. . .

ISO: Automation Installer in So Cal Carlsbad

Haha. I will shoot some pics tomorrow, but valves are near Jacuzzi, and breaker panel, heater, filter etc are on a pad around the corner of house away from pool.

ISO: Automation Installer in So Cal Carlsbad

OK, thanks Jim, so would the valve actuators need to be hard-wired to the ET? That will be a complication, as it crosses a walkway and the pool, but I guess I could make it work, if necessary.

ISO: Automation Installer in So Cal Carlsbad

Thanks Jim, thats helpful info. I do have a pool and spa. The valves are located about 30 ft around the corner from the heater and filter, so I assume I'll need wifi-connected actuators to change them? I also plan on doing the screen logic, as that seems to simplify things. I will also...

Need to replace Pentair VS pump, but with what? And automation? BF deals?

Thanks James, no, the Pentair was a year or two out of warranty, and the replacement of the LCD is almost $500, so new pump is needed, unless I go the automated route (pump seems to work fine, but for the inability to control anything. . the buttons and speed settings work too. Do I want/need...

Need to replace Pentair VS pump, but with what? And automation? BF deals?

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the suggestions. I agree that the need to replace the pump could be removed by adding a controller like the EasyTouch. Does the IntelliChlor replace the AquaRite? Suggested vendors for a quote on such? Gracias, Joel

Need to replace Pentair VS pump, but with what? And automation? BF deals?

The LCD screen on my Pentair VS went out last year, and I survived a whole year with the settings that were in existence when it went out (starts 5 am, runs til 1 pm at a moderate rate 1100 rpm). I have a pool/spa, and SWG. I have considered Automating in the past, but have never done it. I...

LCD Screen on Pentair IntelliFlo gone bad

Would love to see a video on the process, I'm gun-shy of opening the case and making sure the power is off, but haven't seen my screen in over a year, lol. . .

Tailing off a SLAM, but missed readings on critical day

OK, I'm a bad pool owner. Didn't get post-sundown readings again last night, and readings today: 13 FC 0 CC 625 CH (?) 120 TA 40 CYA 8.2 ph Water looks clean, no visible algae. I cut the lawn near the pool on Thurs, and there is some residual debris on surface from that, but otherwise looks...

Tailing off a SLAM, but missed readings on critical day

Thanks guys, I started at 50 CYA (it was between 40-50) and its SWG. OK, I'm close enough to 20 anyway, might as well do it right. how soon after adding can I check? I'll use pool math to add the appropriate bleach.
