    New filter system recommendations

I need a new filter system to replace our cracked Sta-Rite System 3 (cartridge). We have a salt water pool/spa 17k gallons. My pool builder friend recommended a Pentair Clean & Clear 520. A pool repair guy we sometimes use recommended Pentair 60 foot DE filter. I know DE cleans better but I’m...

    Cracked filter housing

I just noticed water was spraying from a crack in the filter housing. I plan to replace it ASAP but in the meantime, should I not run my pool?

Is my heater toast?? Or is it possible I just need to replace some parts?

I cannot find the manufacture date, but .... it's old. It's the original heater that was installed when the pool was built in 2005. I guess I'm lucky it has lasted this long. I was looking through my notes and was reminded that last summer I had to replace the igniter. Soon after, the blower...

Is my heater toast?? Or is it possible I just need to replace some parts?

My pool problems actually started before the anticipated major drop in temps. I went out last Saturday to get everything ready for the storm and I noticed that the freeze protect had not worked AND the spa was super low for some reason. It was already completely frozen (and yes, we will...

    Pool Replaster....Post Freeze Damage!

Here's my spa plaster damage. I have the same type of damage but no quote yet to replaster. What type of plaster do you have? Traditional plaster or is yours an upgraded quartz aggregate? I'm thinking if I replaster the spa, the pool will look bad. Am I going to need to replaster the entire thing??

How are my fellow Texans doing this morning lol

I'm not far from you (West Frisco-The Trails) & I'm seriously concerned. We have lived here since 2009 so we've experienced freezing temps before. I wasn't too concerned because freeze protect has never failed us, until now. Went out yesterday late afternoon to empty skimmers and bump up RPMs...

Is it possible for CYA to be too low during SLAM?

Hi all, thought I'd give an update to see if you have any more suggestions. I did add the gallon of stabilizer 7 days ago, and my CYA in now, exactly as ping predicted, 30. (Ideal is 70-80 per PoolMath App). Ever since I added that bag of dichlor (13 days ago) my FC has remained TOO high. I...
