    SoCal *Splash* Pool

Okay, here's a pic. The wire comes out of the side of the shotcrete shell (under the dirt). I found a total of 5 around the pool (could not locate one on the deep end).

I'll go take some shots of the wire now . . . thanks!

That makes sense. Thank you for clarifying. This is quite a ride my PB is taking me on! IMO, they shouldn't be calling it "cantilevered" !? I know it is not constructed like the one in the drawing you sent. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

Gosh, I didn't get that from Jimmy's post. In fact, it is cantilevered coping, that is, it is overhanging into the pool 1 - 1 1/2" - isn't that considered cantilever coping? OR are you saying it's not cantilever because "true" cantilever does not tie into the bond beam? Sorry for my confusion!

Thank you. Sorry, I am confused. You are talking a lot about a deck which this isn't, so it's confusing me. When you say, "in a cantilever deck the rebar sticking up shouldn't be there," does this apply to my cantilever coping as well? Also, is bonding wire the copper wire coming out of the bond...

I agree. Def not worth chasing after the 12" width. I am talking myself into loving square-looking coping and lots of joint lines 🤣 (15 1/2" x 24 looks more square than rectangle to me.) Did the pics answer this concern: I am more concerned about how the cantilevered coping will kept isolated...

    SoCal *Splash* Pool

Hello Again, The rebar is off the ground. It is being held up by pieces of vertical rebar that were cemented into the bond beam for that purpose (you can see it in the first pic of rebar if you blow up that pic). However, I know the rebar is supposed to be in the middle of the pour and I'm not...

    SoCal *Splash* Pool

The Concern: See pics. There is up to 6" of loose (non compacted) dirt comprising the 15 1/2" area where the concrete will be poured. AND there is no rebar in that area. Shouldn't this dirt be well-compacted to help prevent cracking? And should there be another line of rebar over the dirt? - THE...

Wow, that's a lot of snow! Brrr!!! It's beautiful though! And now you don't have to look at the dirt patch in the deck.

I'm in awe that they are able to tell "where the leak is coming from," ~ How do they do that??!? Thank goodness the cut out section is relatively small and should patch up without a trace. Kudos for handling this setback with calm and humor! And for braving the cold!!! Yikes. The lights in the...
