    This site has been great!

After “lurking” around here for a few years I finally took the plunge and switched to the TFP method for my pool & hot tub. I have had both for 6 years. The hot tub I always used the test strips and basic chemicals from the store. For the pool I always relied on the local pool store for my...

Muriatic Acid turned my water yellow!

I have been following that, I use the 3 step method because sometimes I’m away for a couple of days at a time for work. (My husband doesn’t mess with caring for my “toy’s”.) It has been very informative, thanks. I am teaching 2 of my sons about caring for them so they can help when that happens...

Muriatic Acid turned my water yellow!

So I started adding baking soda 3 oz at a time, running the jets & aerator, and testing every 30 minutes last night by 1AM my pH was 7.6 & TA 160. It would have taken much longer to drain the tub & refill. This morning my water is clear & beautiful. The test results: Bromine 2.25 pH 8.0 TA...

Safety fencing for an above ground pool

I have been looking at this type of fence. My pool is an Intex so I’m not sure it would work. What is your opinion?

    Hello

So according to my member date I have apparently been lurking on here intermittently for almost 3 years. I have had my pool for 6 years and hot tub for 5. I have relied on the HTH kit from Walmart and results from my local pool supply to maintain them. The last 2 years have been a nightmare...

I can definitely see the bottom, just a little cloudy. I did the OCLT last night just to see what my results would be. If the rain holds off I’ll probably let him swim this afternoon. Thanks!

This mornings test results: FC 14 CC 0.5 PH 7.6 TA 180 CYA 40 The water is still slightly cloudy so I added chlorine to raise the FC to 16 to continue the slam. The FC dropped by 3.2 last night so obviously the SLAM isn’t done yet, besides the water still being a little cloudy. I’ll add some DE...

I have had my pool for 5 years and relied on HTH test and the local pool supply shop for my results. I have been lurking on here for a couple of years and after fighting with my pool, it was constantly cloudy, all last year I decided to order the Taylor kit recommended on here and see what I can...

Muriatic Acid turned my water yellow!

Thanks for the response. So I retested the water and the pH test is bright yellow and the TA is red with the alkalinity indicator. Hard lesson to learn. I’m guessing I’ll need to dump and start over?

Muriatic Acid turned my water yellow!

Hello. I’ve been lurking here for a couple of years and this year I decided I was going to jump in. I cleaned my hot tub and added fresh water. The specifics are in my signature. My Taylor test kit came today, I had been using the HTH from Walmart, and my test was as follows: Bromine 5.4, pH was...
