    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

Actually, it’s the VSF. Pentair sticker from the box looks like it was from 3/2021. I bought it in April of that year. I guess that I just never noticed the wind this thing put out…. I’ll assume everything is okay, then. Thanks to all who responded.

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

Well, of course not, but I thought maybe it was a symptom of something else going on - like if it was running more dry than wet, but I was getting flow. ajw22 stated above that there is a fan in the back of these pumps. My concern is why did it just seem to start blowing (or over-heating) today?

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

DBB, The fan on the IntelliFlo sucks air in from the motor end and I suspect that is what you are feeling at high speed. This has nothing to do with air under the pump lid.. There is no magically way air in the water could get out of the pump and could be felt blowing on your leg. Thanks...

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

It was hard to tell, but I'd say probably. As mentioned, it seemed like it was from below the control panel, and immediately in front of it, but all from the motor end of the pump. My concern is, during the hot Texas summer I never felt a breeze from the pump at all like I did today - it was...

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

When I put my my newish (<2 years old) Pentair VF pump into high speed for vacuuming today, it began blowing a lot of air from around the motor somewhere. I couldn't pinpoint it, but it seems to be coming from somewhere under the control display box. I do not see any water leaks anywhere. I'm...

Variable Speed Pump and Freeze Protect

Apologies if this has been addressed, but as a victim of the big Texas freeze and having had to replace all my pool equipment as a result… Common sense would tell me to set for high RPMs, but as the new owner of a variable speed pump, what is the best practice for running in freeze mode...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

I opened up the box today, and yep, the pool guy still had the Intelliflo wired to the relay. In fact, I don't even think he was in the box at all and just wired at the pump from the existing whip and called it a day. Anyway, after pulling the old pump relay and wiring the Intelliflow straight...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

Yeah, that was my point - it’s been wired incorrectly and only gets powered in the one, main pool mode. I think I’ll go ahead and remove the old pump relay, just to get it out of the way if nothing else. And I’ve located a Compool wiring diagram, which should help me sort out the jumble of...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

Got home and ran out before it got dark. When put into service mode, the pump display says something like "Alarm, loss of power," then goes dark. But then, if I hit the Filter button, the display lights up and gives the initial 0 RPM, so control seems to be returned to the pump. One thing I...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

Thanks, Jim, Yes, the old single speed filter pump definitely was on its own relay, as it would sometimes stick on in during winter…. The other three relays service the 2nd pump, the lights, and the spa aerator. I have no electrical sub-panel at the equipment location. Everything was added to...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

So, some time back, I upgraded my Pentair Compool box with the Easytouch 8 upgrade, and all was well. This panel upgrade kept the Compool Cp3400 transformer panel. Recently, I replaced the single speed pump with an Intelliflow VSF. While I have an initial program working to turn the filter...

Proper PVC to Use at Pad

Thanks, everyone. Nice looking pad, Cowboy. I saw several folks that say to paint PVC to give an extra level of UV protection. I like the thoughts of having a dark color like you used, but was wondering about using a dark color with our hot, southwest sun. You've not noticed any ill effects...

Proper PVC to Use at Pad

I'm having to re-do my pad after The Big Chill here in Texas, and am shopping for PVC. Almost all the schedule 40 I see has printing, barcodes, etc. which I don't want. The shiny, unmarked, UV resistant sch. 40 stuff that I've found is not NSF rated (I've read this this rating is important for...

    Pool Cloud App Defunct?

Looks promising, but for Android only?
