    Not a lot of sunlight

Ok done. Do I have to export all test logs? or am I good now?

    Not a lot of sunlight

Yes that is what I use for all of my logs. That is where the data came from in my first post. I love that app! Makes things so much easier. I will read through it again but my understanding is for a vinyl liner I just have to be worried about my CSI being over +0.6. I have been negative(Very...

    Not a lot of sunlight

I understand. Maybe I'm just not waiting long enough. My water has very high TA when I add it as make up water because of my water softener. I know that makes the water cloudy as well(learned that last year) so I stopped my first SLAM and brought my TA down and then the water was clear. Now with...

    Not a lot of sunlight

Good morning. My pool is installed in my backyard but the issue I have is that it only gets sunlight until about noon during the day then it is in shade the rest of the day. When I SLAM I am able to get rid of algae but it seems like it comes back easily even if I keep all of my chemistry in...

    Using bleach

You are correct. Wait until you pass the OCLT then worry about CC. I just found this site about a month ago and it has been a life saver. After my first SLAM my water was blue but milky. My OCLT passed easily and my CC was 0.5 or less. The only thing that had to pass was clear water. I put in...

    After vacation green

Well good news. It appears my pool has cleared up. Only took 2 or 3 days of SLAMing. My OCLT last night was 2 so I think tonight it will be 1 or less and my SLAM will be complete. Still frustrating to come home to a green pool but 2 or 3 days of hard work isn't bad all things considered. I just...

    After vacation green

Ok. I just redid the CYA test using diluted CYA test steps. Came out to 50 all 3 times I tried. So multiply by 2 and my CYA is really 100. I am confident now about my CYA. I think what happened was earlier before I got the CYA standard I added too much stabilizer and that is how it got that...

    After vacation green

So i went in vacation had perfect clear water. Before i left for 8 days my chemistry was as follows: FC - 5 CC - 0 pH - 7.4 TA - 90 TH -160 CYA - 40? I questioned i was reading CYA correct so i got a 50 standard and was going to test again when i got home. Before i left i dumped a gallon of...

    Issues getting water clear

I just got my hands on a Hayward Pro Series S180T 18" sand filter. It only cost me $50 plus $30 for sand. I hooked it up yesterday and let it run all night. After about 12 hours of running I can already see about 8-12" deeper than I could before. I have been maintaining my FC at 17 per the SLAM...

    Issues getting water clear

Another thought I had was what if I bought another sand filter could I set them up in series or in parallel and get the same result as one bigger filter? The only reason I ask is getting a 2nd smaller filter is cheaper than a larger one and then I wouldn't have to sell my 2nd one.

    Issues getting water clear

Yes the pump and filter are separate. That is a good idea about craig's list, etc for that. Thanks again for your help. Just found out that my pool was supposed to come with a 19" filter instead of a 16" filter. Leslie's will not replace or send new one because it has been over a year. On one...

    Issues getting water clear

Just called Doheny's and even though it is a Doheny's brand pump the supervisor says they don't have access to that information:confused:. My thought, unless someone has another suggestion, is to suffer through this year and then get a new pump/filter combination that is properly sized for my...

    Issues getting water clear

After posting in another forum to get information on if my pump and filter combo are correct for my pool(I understand now that was a mistake and I should have just asked that question in this forum). I think my filter is part of the problem. After driving myself crazy doing research my filter...

Is my sand filter sufficient in size?

Thank you. That is the information I needed. My filter is rated at 35gpm. I will look at the pump curve but on my pump it says max 75 gpm. Even if my pump is running at 2/3 of max it is still more than the filter can handle.

Is my sand filter sufficient in size?

I was thinking that but since this was more of an informational thing about equipment rather than a problem that's why I put it here. I apologize. I know why my pool is not clearing fast(needs to filter) I was just wondering if my equipment was correct sized for my pool. I saw it as two separate...
