Pavers Under Pool Supports Snapped - HELP!?

The pavers broke because the ground under them wasn't perfectly smooth. The advantage of wood is it's elasticity. I would just monitor the level of the pool. Very likely the pool will remain stable. Is the soil underneath packed? The reason for the support under the legs is to spread the weight...

Help-Amazon Deal- new pool owner what else should I buy

I would use this skimmer: Amazon.com : Hayward SP10841OM Auto-Skim In-Ground Pool Skimmer, Square : Swimming Pool Skimmers : Garden & Outdoor It's Hayward SP10841OM. The advantage is the cover collar is adjustable, so water doesn't spill out when you overfill the pool. Mount the skimmer as...

Help me plan for pool number two - round or rectangular?

Your budget will determine the type and size of pool. At the low end the 16X32 intex ultra frame is a good option. While it's listed as 52" deep, you can barely get 48" and that's with some fudging. You can make a swimming lane in the middle (just slope toward the middle 6" or so) which would...

Looking for XPS foam panels in central Florida. Please help

Another option would be eps foam board. It's slightly less dense, but also cheaper. Home Depot may have it (once side will have aluminum foil. The brand is R-Tech. Once the pool is filled, it will do everything it's supposed to do. You need to be a little more careful walking on it during...

    Semi in ground 12x24 intex

I did the same thing several years ago and it works great. Since any water in the hole can't drain away, you need to make sure the dirt in the bottom is very porous. There will be spills. Water will splash out of the pool. You'll forget you have the hose running to add water to the pool and...

Intex Bar Replacements - Now or in the Spring?

It's pretty hard to say, without seeing how much of the bar is rusted. Most of the weight acting on a round pool is outward, rather than down. Either the top rail or vertical support or T-bar might buckle (bend out) if the rust is severe enough.

    New build underway

I used the white foam (R-tech) from Home Depot. The pink Foamular 150 (or blue, depending on brand) is slightly denser-- which means it will compress less under pressure. Some folks used the Foamular 250 which is quite dense. I think the difference is 10% compression at 15 psi vs. 25 psi. I...

    New build underway

Whether or not you need a layer of sand or sifted dirt depends on several factors, IMO. Are there still pebbles or small rocks embedded in the tamped dirt? Do you live in an area where you are subject to frost heaving? I would probably think using 1" foam instead of 1/2" would help with those...

    Pump/filter/swg sizing - INTEX 32x16 AGP

I agree with using the equipment that comes with the pool. I've been using the sand filter (which holds 50 lbs of sand) and seems to work OK. I suppose I have to backwash the filter more often than if I had a larger filter, but probably backwash every couple of weeks or so. The pump lasted a...

intex rectangle pool 12'x24'x52" corner concerns

No the pool wouldn't collapse if the corner came out. The corner's don't support any weight. Notice all the extra lining at the corners just so the pool frame can flex.

30 foot above ground pool on clay soil question

Do you have any sort of drain to channel the water from the hill side around the pool?

    Foam board bottom

Either the XPS (usually pink or blue) or EPS (white) will work. XPS has a slightly higher density (Foamular 150) than EPS, but only a couple of psi. Both are manufactured from the same material (polystyrene resin) through different processes, both are closed cell and both will work below grade...

16x32x52 intex First pool Ground leveling.. need help pls

I agree that you would be better to use crushed rock than sand. Around here it's called 5/8"- and it is used as a base for roads, etc. I would make most of your leveling out of that, then possibly a thin layer of sand to smooth it out. Depending on what kind of crushed rock you have locally, you...
