Pentair clean and clear plus 420 fastener problem

I have had this filter since 2011 and the past couple of times when removing the ring clamp I had a hard time sliding the long bolt out of the sleeve. A closer look shows that the bolt bent a little due to the design of the spring and barrel nut. With the bolt no longer being straight it’s...

I thought I should wait for cya to come up to normal level before shocking the pool to treat algae.

I don’t see white scale deposited along the water line like I used to have during the first few yrs owning the pool which I treated with acid. I am confused, you mean apply acid to the areas where plaster came off or to where the black algae is ? Right now I am waiting for my cya to come up...

I haven’t done any CSI test yet and I don’t have problem with scaling so my CSI could be too low. That might be the reason. Once I get all the chemicals to proper level I will definitely do a CSI test. I am very curious now. Thx

That was exactly what I was thinking when I first saw it, too much Pepple created small gaps in between so very little plaster creme could get in between = weak. Brushing with steel brush didn’t help. I control the ph very well, adding acid average every 2 weeks to keep ph in proper range...

I normally brush the algae with metal brush before pouring chlorine to start the procedure and keep chlorine at that level until no overnight loss and no CC (is that a slam or a shock?). Hopefully I can find a company who is willing to replaster just the problem areas (plaster loss).

I am aware of the slam procedure and have been doing that for years. I am trying to bring the chemical back up slowly now that the rain seem to stop, then start a shock to see if it helps getting rid of the black algae. Haven’t tried vitamin C yet but will see. So if I drain the pool and pour...

If hard water is one of the factors that is harmful for plaster pool then we in So Cal are screwed 😁. Is shocking the pool too often bad, too? The contractor told me I could drain the pool then poor liquid chlorine on the spots with black algae and let it dry to get rid of it. I was a little...

How long a plaster, or particular PeppleTec suppose to last? Quite expensive if it only lasts 16 yrs. Actually, it started couple yrs ago with a few spots. But it’s more obvious now.

It’s mainly just cosmetic but I have more than one spot like that. The problem I see is it seems to attract black algae more than normal areas and very difficult to remove. My chemistry is sort of out whack right now due to the recently rains. I have some black algae on these areas but the...

Sorry, it's below water line, on the step. I have many areas like this and all are on the steps. In case you ask if the steps are heavily used, no. We use the pool about 5 times a year and no kids. Thx
