    Recommendation for Automation

Thanks for the response Jim. I do have a SWCG but it isn't a Pentair, I know I will have to replace it to get the automation. As to the light, really not sure what I have, when we bought the house, the vinyl goes over the light. If there is a switch for it, I have no idea where it is. I...

    Recommendation for Automation

Hi all, I am working on getting my act together to do a pool renovation. One thing I would like would be to have some automation. What I would like to be able to do is control the pump (really just off and on), control light(s), control SWG, and possibly in the future, control a heat pump...

Green Pool and it isnt Algae

No, no Algaecides, no heater, nothing. The pool has been very simple to maintain and really doesn't require much to keep balanced, until now. It is pretty consistently that yellowish-green. My idea is that all the rain maybe pushed some ground water into the pool. It never flowed over the...

Green Pool and it isnt Algae

It is totally strange, I am on a well, but have not added water in months, we have already had 36" of rain this year, so have not added water since last summer. This is totally new to me, so I haven't used a sequestrant, what should I use? With all the rain, my ph has been on the low side so I...

Green Pool and it isnt Algae

Darn it, just got the pool all balanced and cleaned and it turned green on me. I don't think it is algae, did a overnight test and did not loose chlorine. Plus chlorine has not been below minimum chlorine levels. But yesterday I was cleaning some iron spots off the steps and swim out with...

Used tub, up and running, numbers check?

Remember that after your cya gets to 30, you need to stop using dichlor and move to using chlorine. Also watch your cya, it gets burned off more quickly in a hot tub. In my case, I need to bump up cya monthly.

    New fill help

Up front I will say l know nothing about bromine so will leave that to someone else to answer. For decreasing ph you will use acid, just like in your pool. For your ta, what is the ta of your fill water? My tub is currently at 40 and with a TA of 60 for my fill water and my ph very stable, I...
