Boring pool water. Time for Borates?

So you're saying I can go for it? What amount is 'some'?

Boring pool water. Time for Borates?

Mainly because people on here just rave about how great it makes the water feel and how the 'sparkle' is amazing.

Boring pool water. Time for Borates?

UGH, it has taken FOREVER to get the TA even to 100. After putting in the muriatic acid, it takes a week to get the PH back up again. And this is with all the water features on and 10 kids splashing and using the diving board. I've also turned the return eyeballs 'up'. I've never had to...

Boring pool water. Time for Borates?

Now that I finally understand pool water and never ever have an issue with it, I would like to add borates to my pool. Please let me know if you think now is a good time. TC always between 3-7 PH always between 7.5-7.8 TA hovering at 100-110 No CC's Pool clear A few years ago, we added salt...

    My Pool is a Swamp

O EM GEE!! I'm subscribing! At first, I actually thought it was a putting green. Personally, I actually get a bit bored because nothing every goes wrong with my water (knock on wood) since I found these wonderful folks here so many years ago. Do what they say and you'll be back on track in...

    Indiana Hillbilly Part Duex: Atlantis

We do use it in the structure. Smoke is not a problem. That is the chief reason he left the transom windows open.

    Indiana Hillbilly Part Duex: Atlantis

I consulted with my 7 year old and was told to change the video to public. Which I did, but it sounds like you probably have tons of cat swimming videos already!

    Indiana Hillbilly Part Duex: Atlantis

Well a lot has happened since July of last year. We had a very mild winter so the brothers stopped out several weekends and worked for beer. My sister finished the mermaid. We had originally planned to tile the entire bathroom, but The Artist Formerly known as my sister advised against it...

    I don't CYA what I'm doing wrong.

well, then this solves my problem. At the beginning of the season when I'm so excited to open the pool, I work fervently to get the water to the perfect readings. Then, as the season moves on, I get lazy and don't check daily. Mostly because I'm so confident in my ability to bring my water...

    I don't CYA what I'm doing wrong.

Hmmmmm, could we be on to something here? I put in another 4 pounds today and it's all dissolved. I'm going to test next week and revisit this topic to post my findings. I'm not at all worried because I really have a handle on my water situation. I owe it all to TFP. I can just look at it...

    Indiana Hillbilly Part Duex: Atlantis

It's been a while and the hillbilly has been busy this summer. The kids and I have basically taken over the entire house and garage so he's really excited to mark his own territory. Here was how it all started. 1st, this slowly happened over a couple years. The corner sank. I was super sad...

    I don't CYA what I'm doing wrong.

Today, we swam from 10-5. Had about 15 people swimming. 92 degrees and blazing sun. Started with 4ppm. Ended the day with .5ppm Probably acceptable.

Okay, tested early-ish this morning. Chlorine held from last night. Then, I kept the pool open for an hour in sun this morning and it is still holding. Probably I have some CYA, just not enough to register on the tube yet.
