How to assign / control Jandy JVA's from iAqualink

Hello! I'm nearing completion of getting this setup complete - I need some help with controlling the Jandy valve actuators. I have two installed, one in the intake (pool and spa in) and one on the return (either pool or spa). In the iAqualink setup, there is a button for 'Assign JVA's', but all it says is that the intake and return JVA's are assigned. I cannot find where I can control them - in other words, when cleaning mode is set, I need the valves rotated so that intake is from the pool, and return is to the spa. When I select spa mode to head the spa, I need the valves to be pulling and returning only to spa. If I want to setup a mode for spa drain, intake is spa and return is pool, and so on. Can someone direct me to where in the interface software I can control this?

Generally, you tell the iAquaLink that you have both a pool and spa, and it automatically assigns the correct functions to the first two valve control connectors. The only other step is to adjust the switch located on the actuator so that the valves move in the correct directions and perhaps also adjust the cams inside the actuator so that they stop in the correct positions.

From then on you don't give commands to the valves as such, instead you switch between pool and spa mode and the valves move as needed automatically.

Thanks Jason So, because I'm always returning to spa (at least for heating the spa and for pool cleaning), I might as well remove the actuator and leave it returning to spa manually? The only time I would return to pool is to drain the spa, which I would be doing manually anyway so that I don't start sucking air when it's empty. Unless there is a better idea! I've never had a spa/pool combo, my last pool was pool only. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to manage waterflow during the cleaning cycle. Is it normal to return all water to the spa over the spillover and suck only from the pool?

Returning all water to the spa 100% of the time is not generally the best idea. Your pool water circulation won't be very good if all of your water is coming from the spillover. Typically you use a mixture of spillover and regular pool returns on an automatic sequence from the control system.

Regardless, spillover mode can be setup from the iAquaLink, so you could use it as you describe if you want to. If you don't see spillover mode, there is a dip switch you need to set to enable spillover mode.

The Zodiac G3 cleaner is a suction side cleaner, so it doesn't care where the water is returning.
