I just finished my solar install. Enabling solar caused some funky issues with my wireless remote.

I am on 2.180 for both the outdoor main station and the wireless remote.

Outdoors I can choose solar, solar preferred, or heater for both the pool and spa. They work as expected.

The wireless remote let's me select gas heater, hybrid, and heat pump... which are completely different than the main board and frankly don't work.

Can I erase the EEPROM on the just the wireless remote without erasing the main panel?

nodejs-poolController is also working properly... just not the wireless remote

I think you should be able to erase the remote's EEPROM without affecting the main panel, after which the remote should have its settings refreshed from the main panel automatically. Maybe stand near the outdoor transceiver while doing this so you have a strong signal.

Perhaps we can get a second opinion from ET expert @ogdento...?

Oh hey, I sent T a pm... basically I agreed with Squirrel when he says the remote erase shouldn't affect the outdoor, but when I do it I unplug the wireless card from the comm port if the outdoor panel is still on (or you could just power off the outdoor panel). And it will sync after just like Squirrel said.

Thanks Tom. Great idea I'll power off the main board at the circuit breakers.

I'd love not to have to start over with programming... although it it probably long overdue.

Wireless unit EEPROM erase didn't affect the outside board (I did it with the power off) but it also didn't fix my heat menu issues.

Tom sent me back my USBDM programmer that he was burrowing.

Updating the firmware to 2.190 solved my issues.

Thanks again, Tom!

A while back Pentair stated there were know issues with heat pump control in 2.180. Perhaps I found that issue.

Just an FYI. Finally got a response from Pentair. It would appear that an EEPROM erase will affect both units if they are in communication:

Thank you for contacting Pentair. Erasing EEPROM will delete programming from the outdoor control panel (OCP) if wireless remote is communicating with OCP. If both the OCP and the wireless remote are running the same version, 2.180, they should both be displaying all of the same menus throughout its programming. If this is not the case, have you flashed firmware for OCP or wireless remote in the past? If so, maybe some files did not update properly. If you have the ability to contact a local service person, we would recommend flashing the firmware to the latest version, 2.190.

Here is a link to our dealer locator should you need someone for service: Pool and Spa Equipment Dealer Locator

Thank you,
