Jandy LED Lights

I have the Jandy LED lights that change colors in my pool and they have been nothing but trouble. I have had them replaced 6 times, as the blue burns out after about 6 months. Of course the Jandy warranty is 1 year from initial install. The latest ones I got free from Jandy, but had to pay the labor to install them and that was Oct 2019, so I had a better run on these, but now the blue is burned out again in 2 (have 3 in the pool) and the spa light wont even come on anymore in any color. I cannot keep replacing these lights every 6 months to a year. I just tried to call Jandy to beg for free lights again, and the hold time is 120 minutes. My pool company said they are going to talk to the technicians to see if there is an alternative light. Any suggestions for a bettter light, and if I replace them, my fear is I cannot control them with the iAqualink app since that is Jandy?? I am at my wits end about what to do. They said tons of people are having the same problem as me. Any help or ideas are appreciated!!

Which model Jandy LED lights do you have?

See if they have a light that fits...

I have replaced them 9 times, I want an alternative to Jandy lights, if possible. I am tired of replacing them over and over and over. Its a common issue with Jandy

Then look at Florida Sunseekers or CMP lights.

Do the Sunseeker or CMP lights emulate Jandy? When I replaced mine, I used J&J Color Splash XG lights since they will work directly with Aqualink (i.e. they have a similar color mapping and total number of color choices). I had contacted Florida Sunseeker at the time and they said they don't emulate Jandy. Maybe it has changed.

I am curious how often you use the lights and for how long. I have 2 Jandy WaterColor LEDs going on my 5th season and never once had any issues with them. I use them maybe 4-5 hours per week throughout the 5 month season.

It probably doesn't help but please refer to my Jandy Lights DIY post. 7 of my 8 Jandy lights have blue LED failures, and I only switch on for a few hours every evening. Jandy refused to give me replacement lights since I installed myself, irrespective that the product is defective. Nevertheless, getting replacement parts that continue to fail is not a solution hence the path I am taking to try to get to my trouble free pool.

This is my second pool with J&J bulbs. I use them every night for 4-5 hours. I ran them in my last pool for 3-4 years without issue. Only had this pool about a year, but so far so good.

I also have Jandy LED's and my issue is that the green doesnt come on for 2 of the 5 LED's. That causes an issue because its needed for some of the other color options. The PB has already replaced 1 LED. Right now I'm told parts are on backorder so who knows when it will be replaced

I have the similar problems with my Jandy Nicheless lights. One of the two failed shortly after warranty. They will not synchronize. Total garbage. Yes Jandy customer service and wait times under Fluidra's name has fallen off badly. Replacement prices are ridiculous. The quote to replace two Jandy lights was over $1,200.00 . We're going without the lights for now. Our usage level was minimal and when used they were left on only for a few hours if we had a party or went into our pool. We rarely use our backyard water feature, but are its devoted slaves.

How much do those J&J lights cost a piece? I just googled it and they are like $500 a piece. Is that right? I have a Jandy Hydrocool that just went bad less than 2 months after install in a brand new pool.

Make a warranty claim to Jandy through your builder.
Texted him already and he thought it was a synchronization issue but I tried that and white and blue wont come on and it likes green only. He is contacting Jandy for a replacement. From so many threads it looks like this will be a recurring problem.

I've only purchased the J&J LED bulbs (actually called Color Splash LXG-W series) and they are quite reasonable. I recall the spa bulb is about $150 and the pool about $250. These just screwed into my existing fixtures (Hayward Astrolite) with new gaskets. They've been running great for the past year.

Are those lights nicheless?

No, those are old school niche lights. I switched from conventional bulbs to LED using the J&J bulbs. As far as I can tell, their nicheless lights (VU series) are not compatible with 3rd party automation systems.
