Can I send an email to someone or only post questions in a forum? I have a question about the tarp water replacement method and that conversation was closed due to inactivity.

Also, I thought I had my signature fixed before but only modified my profile. This time I think I've got it, but let me know if you don't see my pool info. Thanks!

Is it Carlos ? He has an AWESOME write up here 👇

@Mike1162 is mid tarp exchange as we speak here 👇 (Starts at post 142)

Be sure you understand the risk to using the tarp method. Small children and / or animals should not be allowed anywhere near this process. If they fall in the pool, the probability of injury or death is high.

Yes, Carlos. He did a wonderful post on his experience with a tarp method water replacement. I wanted to know how far down to place a supplemental fill hose (garden hose, not water truck, for after the water has been replaced) down the side of the pool wall before starting the process so I could break the suction/pressure against the wall once it’s filled. If I put it all the way to the bottom of the shallow end or the deep end, would that push water up the wall, loosening the tarp or does it need to be, like, halfway down? I also wondered if anyone had done a reverse method, weighting down a tarp with tethered weights so that it starts at the bottom, then filling new water underneath while removing water above the tarp. Then you could just slide the tarp off when you’re done. What do you think? Carlos, are you out there? I’d love your opinion.

I wouldn't worry about the tarp getting stuck to the liner. You can just put a corner of the tarp into the pool & hold it under water so the water level above & under the tarp can equalize. Alternately you could add water to the skimmer and accomplish the same thing.
