My Intex SF80110 pump isn't turning on. I have power to the pump but the display is showing a red period (power saving mode). The power button is hot to touch. I don't know if the pump could be overheated or what. It was running fine and then I shut it off to do a backwash and now I cant get it to turn on. I've tried unplugging it and covering it with something to give it time to cool down but it still won't start up. I get the power save mode slot but it seems to turn on if I cycle the power. This is the first time I haven't been able to get it to turn back on. How do I know if the pump thermal switch is tripped? Does it display the red period if it is?

I found a workaround today and managed to get the pump working. If you still haven’t found a solution let me know and I will try to explain what I did

@Kareny72 i've had this issue come up a couple of times and what has worked for me is turning off and back on the breaker of the power outlet to which the pump is plugged in. It seems to sort of "reset" the electrical current to the outlet to provide enough power for the pump to run. The pump wont auto-start after resetting the breaker; it will still display the "." until you press the power button and then should be back to normal.
