Going on vacation...

Hi everyone, just wanted to run something by you. We’re going on vacation for 10 days, a couple weeks from now, and when thinking of possible solutions, this is what I ended up with:

(Start with clean, perfectly balanced water chemistry. 24’ round agp)

Day of departure
-Bring FC to slam level.
-Put on winter cover
-Install in-line chlorinator & fill with tabs (uninstalled it once I found this site a couple years ago!)
-Plug pump into timer, set to run 2hrs per day.

The theory behind the winter cover, is that I don’t want to be worried about a lack-of-water scenario to the pump, because the skimmer is packed full (tons of little tree seed things falling in right now). Also, the lack of sunlight would help preserve FC levels. I also have a cya of 40, and use only liquid otherwise, so I should also be good to go in that regard.

Is there anything inherently wrong with my plan? Or maybe there’s something simpler & I’m just taking it overboard?

Thanks in advance!!

Hello everyone,

I will be leaving for vacation today until the 13th (already ran my plan by you guys in a previous thread).

I know there are probably many factors at play, but can anybody shoot me a ballpark FC demand per day (if that’s the right term? How much chlorine is lost per day is what I’m after)… Pool will be covered with the winter cover & is absolutely spotless & chemistry is perfect, CYA 40. I made sure to be SUPER diligent the last couple weeks so I wouldn’t be fighting a single speck of algae before I leave.
