I have to add 7oz of Muriatic acid daily to my pool.
SWG and water feature are present.
When I raise the TA with baking soda it causes the PH to go up.
I was told by the pool store to raise the TA in small increments over a period of a few days.
How can I do that if I must put acid in pool everyday to keep PH in the 7.4 range ?
Doesn't adding acid affect the TA ? I'm confused as to how to balance TA and PH .

You are not filling out your Poolmath logs so we cannot see your testing.

Acid consumes TA. If you have to add acid, you should rarely (never) need to add alkalinity (baking soda).

pH should be kept in the 7's. For most SWCG pools, a pH of 7.8 is to be expected.
