I recently had a pool / integrated Spa installed. I am running a jandy vsp set at 2750 for spa and 2250 for spa heat. I have been trying to get my spa heated faster and to a higher temp.

With the ambient air temp of 70 and starting water temp of 62. I was able to get to a maximum of 84 with a solar cover. This was after 5 hours of heating. I am unable to get past that temp. (I'm guessing because the ambient air temp dropped to 60). I was able to hold steady at 84, even after several hours of use.

Is this normal?

Thanks for the reply. I have all Jandy equipment.

Jandy has already come out because the heater kept giving off a "check louvers" error. It works now but takes a really long time to heat.

The pool is 36x16. 5 feet on the right is a 1 foot in depth shelf. The spa is integrated 8x8 with 4 feet inside and 4 outside.

VSP for filtration, 2HP for spa jets, another 2HP for water features. JXI Heater, Nature2 Chlorinator.

What model JXI heater do you have?

How many BTUs?

Has the gas pressure been checked both before the heater turns on and with it operating?

Have a qualified gas technician come out and check your gas pressures and gas feed to the heater.
