I'm researching pump candidates for our new AGP build this spring/summer and am stuck finding info on a certain Hayward pump. The Hayward 1.5 HP 2 Speed Turbo Flo II Model: SP57152. I've emailed Hayward for info and waiting to hear back, and thus far the supplier hasn't been able to provide the info I'm looking for. I'm looking for info on current draw for low vs. high as well as the flow rate of the pump at various levels of head.

Would anyone know if this is an uprated or full rated pump or possibly any of the other above info?

I was able to find the info I wanted on the Carvin Shark Jet 1.5 HP 2 Speed Model: 15TSHJ-5-25-S1. It pulls 3.2amps/11amps. Flow rate is more than adequate for my application.

I'm looking to have a pump that can run a solar heater hopefully at low speed. The solar system is currently at pool level, but with a new shed build coming in the next year or so, it will be raised up about 6-7 feet above the water level on the shed roof. I'm fine with high speed for vacuuming, power skimming, etc. I guess I'm concerned about this pump being overkill for my application.

Thanks for your feedback!

Carvin is Jacuzzi- i have a single speed already replaced under warranty because of a “design flaw” - if u go w/ that one be sure to get the one with the metal motor casing not plastic as mine got hot & warped the back cover allowing water in & shorted the switch out.

Hayward is a good brand & if i would have had my choice I’d probably go w/ that.

I think I read your thread about that earlier today😊
