Yet another Texas broken pipe. Pool completely froze over and has since thawed. Since we lost power, I was able to drain the pump and filter, but not the heater. One of the plugs broke literally inside the unit and after breaking the hose on the chlorine tablet feeder, figured to just leave it since I was planning on removing the heater anyway. We never use it and it’s super old. So, primed they pump this afternoon (we hit 70 degrees) and everything operating fine, but a busted pvc going to the inlet was discovered. My thought was to either join the inlet to the outlet there on that side or could maybe go from the filter directly to the pvc going to the tablet feeder. Thoughts?

Either way will work. It may be easier just to connect the pipes on the side of the heater as is appears you can cut them fairly easily and join them together. Ensure your gas line to heater is turned off and also your breaker to the heater is off.
It appears harder to connect directly from the filter outlet to the tablet dispenser (inline chlorinator) based on the pictures. If you do decide, ensure you connect on the proper side of the inline chlorinator as directly before the chlorinator should be a check valve and you want to keep that. There is sometimes an arrow on it for flow direction.
Have you given any thought to converting to a SWCG? It appears you have the room and you can remove the inline chlorinator as well.

Thank you for your response. After sleeping on it, I think I will just join on the side of the heater and get it removed at a later data along with the booster pump since I don’t use it anymore. So maybe go to the SWCG at the same time. I figure contractors will be busy for awhile.
