Despite our best efforts, like so many North Texas pools, we have cracked plumbing (hopefully all above ground), including a couple of valves due to the recent freeze. Two questions:
1) Since it is unlikely that I can get this repaired over the next 3-6 weeks, due to the overwhelming number of pools needing related repairs (see related issue in question 2 below), should I do anything different in the care of the pool given that the pump will not be turned on for this duration? I have followed TFP suggestions for 5+ years, maintaining my chemistries (via Taylor K2006 kit) using liquid chlorine, muriatic acid, and baking soda. Note that the temperature is forecast to be in the 60s during this period.
2) Like so many TFP "users", I do not use a pool maintenance company. In trying to get these repairs, I have found that most companies will not even talk to you if you aren't currently using their pool services. Have any TFP users been successful at finding repair companies to do this work in the North Dallas (Plano) area? If so, (and if it is appropriate in this forum), I'd love suggested companies to contact to do this work.
