We are building a pool in central FL and our neighbors are just a stones throw away. We looking at the option of Florida glass for the sides of our pool enclosure or trees along side the pool enclosure. We cannot have a privacy fence per HOA regulations.

Does anyone have experience with the FL glass? Does it block out the sun completely?

That's a nice product!

It appears that the screening is identical to what is recommended for a screen enclosure (18 x 14 fiberglass mesh), but vinyl laminated, so it will allow some light to go through it. Note that, like an obscure window, it will not let all of the light through like the screen does, but it will not block it out 100%.

Depending on the species bamboo is fast growing and invasive. You may find it growing into places you don't want it to (including your neighbors yard).

Definitely. A few houses ago, I had a neighbor plant a "privacy" bamboo screen and that stuff got out of control rapidly.

I love it, though, and have it in pots around my pool now.

Clumping bamboo is non invasive and as name the name implies it clumps and doesn’t spread as described above. It’s pretty widely used for what you described. Most local nurseries carry the non-invasive variety.
That's why you need to know the variety and its habits. I have a "grass" that will grow to 15' tall with stalks over 1" in diameter. It is invasive but it spreads slowly. The slow spreading part is the only reason it's still around. It does make for a conversation starter in the fall when it plumes out.
