I’ve been using a Pentair DPD78+ test kitAnd just got a Taylor 2006 kit. My CYA level on my old kit reads 60 but after testing with the new Taylor kit the levels are over 100. Any ideas which one is more accurate or why there might be such a big difference? The Pentair kit uses tablets.

Just to make sure I’m doing the Taylor test correctly, I fill the little bottle with pool water up to the 7ml level and then add the cya reagent drops up to the 14ml line.

if that’s the correct method, I guess it’s right. I find it strange that the cya reagent bottles are so small compared to how much of them you have to use for just one test. It looks like my new kit can only do that test 5-6 times. Should have got the other kit.

the Pentair kit just fills up a large sample of pool water, drop a tablet in and wait for it to dissolve. Then you lift the white stick up until you can see the black dot appear, then lower it until it disappears.

My FC levels have been working well with the CYA I thought I had so not sure what to do. I won’t be adding any stabilizer for the rest of the season I suspect so maybe I’ll leave it be and keep up with the chlorine levels I’ve been using.

Just want to verify that you are using Reagent R-0013. That is the solution you add to your pool water sample i.e. 7ml pool water and 7ml R-0013. In the TF-100 test kit the test is 15ml pool water and 15ml R-0013. In the TF--100 kit you get 8 oz of R-0013 reagent. This is about 226ml so you can do 15 tests with the TF-100 kit. Hope this helps.

yep, using the R0013 from the k-2006 kit.It comes with 2 bottles at 22ml each. Ordered it before I knew about the TF100 kit.
