How often should I be cleaning my Pentair Quad 100 DE filter? Time based or can I actually wait to see the pressure rise? I've been cleaning it every 2 months or so and I've never seen the pressure rise beyond a couple PSI above startup baseline, right about 10psi.

Welcome to TFP and what you are doing is great.
A general rule of thumb is to backwash your DE filter if the pressure rises 25% above starting pressure. So if you had 10psi starting then 12.5psi is a 25% increase (20 psi starting would be 25psi for 25% increase).
You should clean (remove the top) and wash the grids - at least once or twice a year.

PS - I backwash my DE filter monthly regardless and I completely wash the grids twice a year. This is my routine and seems to work fine.

If your pressure doesn't rise 25%, you have little to no junk being collected thus no decrease in efficiency thus no need to backwash.

What speed are you running your pump that gets your pressure up to 10 PSI?
I ask because I normally run my VS pump at 1200 RPM and my filter pressure is almost zero.. If I ran at full speed, then maybe 10 PSI, but I never run at full speed and can't see the point of measuring something that will never happen..
What speed do you normally run your pump??

I don't have a backwash valve, I have to do a full clean, remove lid and wash the grids. Maybe I need to have a backwash valve installed. Thanks for the info!
With the VS pump I run 14hrs/day, 7 hours at 2200rpm which produces 11psi and 7 hours at 1200 rpm which produces 2—3psi.

The 25% increase is a generic guide line, that applies to all kinds of pools, all types of filters, all types of pumps, etc.. It should not overrule common sense.
I have a couple of smaller DE filters, at rent houses, that I only open and clean twice a year. Even at the end of my six month period, I still can't tell any difference in the amount of water returning to the pool...
I suspect your UV system is your choke point as I don't see a heater in your signature..

I backwash whenever I see a 25% rise in pressure. However, my pressure barely rises now that i purchased a robotic vacuum and started using hairnets in the skimmer baskets.
I still take the filter apart and clean every 6 months anyway, mainly for inspection and lubrication purposes.

The purpose of the 8hrs at 2200rpm is because that's how Cody Pools set it up when they built the pool last November. Their instruction was to run the high speed 1hr for every 10deg of air temp. I should really be at 9 hours based on that. My water has always been clear so I've never changed the schedules. I live in Central Texas, my challenge is keeping the pool cool so no heater

I would not be afraid of making changes.. The 1 hr for every 10 degrees of air temp, is not really valid...
But.. whatever works for you works for me..
I too use hair nets in both of my skimmers.. It is amazing how much "stuff" they collect...
