On the CYA test, you always round up. so if it is between 50 and 60, we call it 60.Also you are listing your CYA now as 55? There is no 55 for CYA it is either 50 or 60. Keep your FC in the target range and anticipate high demand not letting FC fall below minimum ever. FC/CYA Levels
yes algae problems, yellow color. i just went out and brushed the bottom of pool and it resulted in a little cloud of yellow dust. Are you having any issues with water quality? I know you've drained and refilled to lower your CYA but were you having Algae problems before you came here? If not you just need to keep your FC level between 7-9 for a CYA level of 60 (round up from 55). It's ok if you overshoot by a bit, I would aim for 10 ppm if you are adding at night and your levels should drop to around 6.5-7 by the end of the day.
ok, just read about slamming...i need to know how much liquid chlorine to put in...i am sorry i can't seem to figure it out and it has been a long day already...You will be adding Chlorine.. you need to start a SLAM.. follow this procedure:
SLAM Process
The 'Quat may be worth keeping if you close your pool in the winter.. but lets focus on the now, now
nope. You know 6 ppm FC isn't SLAM process level, right?
