Can we swim tonight with FC at only 2.2 and CYA is at 70, and then run the SWG a few extra hours the next few nights? I got busy and haven’t checked since the weekend and missed running the SWG a few nights. Water is clear, just some tree debris to vacuum up first.

Nope. Not only is it below the minimum per the FC/CYA Levels, but swimming will lower the FC even more and greatly increase the likelihood of an algae outbreak. Also the SWG is not designed to raise the FC, it's designed to maintain it. No matter how you parse it you need to manually dose some chlorine. Just add 2-3 ppm and allow it to circulate for at least 15 minutes and you'll be fine to jump in.

Oh that stuff, I thought they wised up and stopped selling it like that.

By their marketing everything is "instantly liquid chlorine" because once the chlorine hits the water it is a liquid. It's a bit of a ripoff too. They sell this stuff for $5.75/lb and then sell the exact same thing in 1 pound bags for $5.00/lb.

Oh, I see they have "instant liquid acid" too 🙄

What marketing -----

It is 73% calcium hypochlorite. Nothing liquid about it.

I think I am okay on how much to add to get it up since we did that in the beginning of the season before setting up the SWG, but I’m not sure if we can still swim in about 15 minutes versus like 2-3 hrs. I’ve added it and circulating with brush now. I guess I can test the water again at this point?

Yes, we just bought it in the beginning until we got the pump set up and I was doing it myself and didn’t want to have liquid shipped and possibly spill everywhere making a mess. So this is just the leftovers :/
