Our pump was tripping the electrical- turns out the motor was fried and we just replaced it with a brand new pentair whisperflo. Now the pump is making a very high pitched noise that is crazy annoying. Any ideas what this could be on a brand new pump?

When I hear of a high-pitched noise, like a squeal, I think of motor bearings. But you would hope a new pump like that shouldn't have such a problem. How long has the new pump been making that noise?

3 years seems premature to have bearing issues, but you never know. Any chance you can post a clip so we can hear it? When it comes to sounds, that may be the only way for us to compare to any other suspect issues.
Post a clip. Is there any air evident in the basket? was the pump properly primed when installed? Occasionally you get a pump with faulty bearing so the installer may just need to warranty it out and replace it. If they offer to repair it I'd decline. Although it’s easy to replace the bearings, you bought a new, not reconditioned pump So put a new one back in.

I agree that it's not what we would expect for bearings, especially in a young pump like yours. Not cavitation either. Maybe preemptive wear though? @JamesW, what do you make of those sounds?
Did you self install? If you are still inside the 60 day warranty period you should start that process.
