Hey everyone-- I am new to pool ownership-- and new here! I have a 22ft round, 4 ft pool with pentair dymo pump and sand filter with brand new sand. We drained and started fresh after major issues and a CYA of 123.. now we are waiting on the Taylor test kit so we can truly test for ourselves, but in the meantime we have been using Leslie's and at home we have clorox test trips and the app.. but I feel those have to be "off." We have followed the additions for the chemicals according to the PoolMath app but clorox is still saying that we have 0 FC. The Clorox testing strip also showed a drastic change in pH from yesterday (7.1) to this morning (6.8), Leslie's yesterday told us our pH was 7.2. All we added since then was liquid chlorine and CyA-- would this drop the pH or is these strips just not even worth our time??
One thing I am confused about is that some people suggest/mention adding "gallons" of liquid chlorine, pool math told us to add 44 oz when our FC and TC were at like 0, since it was fresh fill. We did that yesterday evening a little before "sun down". We also added cyanuric acid because our CYA was down to 28 after the refill-- we added 18 oz per the app. This doesn't seem like much and again those clorox strips still show our FC and TC at 0.
