Pentair IntelliCenter - Egg Timers not Working - Am I doing this right?

I'm trying to create some various one-time run automations that I don't want to use schedules for. Schedules are working fine, but one example is, I want to create an egg time to run my fountains for just 30 minutes. Maybe while I'm grilling, and not worry about forgetting to shut it off.

Also, as I'm monitoring daily temperature rises and running pumps at day, I created a temporary Circuit Group to turn my Pool mode on and low speed pump setting on for 5 minutes. This will give me an up to date temperature reading (as well as Salt). I setup an Egg Timer as follows for 3 minutes. With nothing else on prior to turning the feature on, 3 minutes passes and everything remains on. It's the same situation for my Fountain testing. Perhaps 3 minutes is just too low, although no errors are produced.

Am I missing something very basic here? When I turn the Feature/Feature Group on, both features turn on, they just don't turn off:

Is it possible that you can show me that same circuit group screen from the web client. Looks like your mobile app is in "dark mode" and I can't tell if the "Dont Stop" checkbox is checked or not. It's a big problem with the dark mode on the mobile apps.

IC has been so frustrating lately. Basically, you can’t create timers / schedules on the app from your smart device lately. Try using the website and that may work. That’s how we have been having to set schedules. It seems to save the schedule you create on the website but not the app. I get a JSON error several times throughout the day. So irritating.
Anyway, Others will chime in that are much MUCH smarter.

Well the web app has been down today, seemingly every morning it's broke and someone at Pentair fixes it. I did create the same schedule in the web app and had the same issue. The dark mode issues seem to have been fixed, but yeah I know it was once completely nerfed. The checkbox is absolutely NOT checked because if you check it, it disables the ability to adjust the times.

Yup, I left a 1-star review on the iOS store, the app hard crashes on any schedule time modification. The JSON error has been appearing daily and when that happens on the app, you can't use the web app. Regardless, when the web app works, I use it exclusively and still have this egg timer issue.

Yea, I concur with your thoughts. And more and more glitchy or buggy issues keep popping up. Seems like every time they attempt to fix or address one issue with an update, they break two more unrelated things.

EDIT. In other words - One step forward and about 4 steps back. At this rate, we'll be better off with an intermatic timer setup. :( Maybe I can convert my panel back to its original IntelliTouch. At least the PoolController over at github likes the i7+3 much better than my current i10PS. 😭

Good (me too (y)). The more complaints they receive, the more likely that they might decide to listen and act. But complaining to Tech Support does NO GOOD. Those poor guys take the brunt, yet they can do very little to change the culture. They have no control over software. They can only help you troubleshoot and send out warranty techs. Complaints to be effective must be done above the tech support level.

We're all getting the JSON error constantly but I'm sure you know that you can log in "locally" when using the mobile app. The web client is currently "UP" for me (at the moment anyway).

Anyway sorry. Back to the egg timer. I typically don't use them, but the few times that I have experimented with them, they have seemed to work perfectly but that was a while ago. If the CIRCUIT GROUP EGG TIMER is set and there are no other circuit or scheduling conflicts and the "Don't Stop" checkbox is not checked, then I am out of ideas.

Keep in mind that if you are running a circuit 'manually and another circuit is scheduled or on during that time, then you must have Manual OP Priority checked in SETTINGS > SYSTEM CONFIGURATION > GENERAL SETTINGS. Doing so, should insure that any circuits or schedules that are running are interrupted in favor of your last manual circuit activation.

Nope...didn’t know I could log in locally!!!! Thanks so much..it worked. Told you, I’m not that smart. Anxiety level reduced

Yeah I’ve changed my app to default to local login due to how unreliable the remote login has been the last week.

No other programs scheduled during the time. Maybe egg timer doesn’t work on a group.

Yup, maybe it is broke. When I get some of these other alligators from biting at my heals, I'll do a bit of testing and see if I can replicate the issue.
Oh, wait, I just had an idea. I just found something. Let me ask you this please. Is Manual Op Priority on or off?

Off
Ill turn it on. Although there are no schedules running or any other things running.

Well, what I had found was that the issue of when Circuit Group (macros) "Egg Timers are not working either manually or within running schedules if Manual Op Priority is On".
This issue is slated to be corrected (hopefully) in firmware release v.1.045 which is currently not publicly released. Now you can call tech support, tell them the issue and ask them if there is a beta that you can have to correct this problem. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't (depending on what tech support rep you get).

But at least we have confirmed that there is certainly an "issue" with egg timers as they relate to Circuit Groups.
I'll still see if I can replicate this myself, as you have got my curiosity going on this.

Let us know if you have any luck getting beta firmware version 1.045 and if that corrects the problem. In the meantime, I'm adding to my IntelliCenter list of issues (which btw, continues to grow on a nearly daily basis) :(

Thanks..

Yeah, that was why I said I'll just wait it out rather than call TS and try to get a beta FW. Glad I'm not losing my mind though.
Yep, I gotcha... Oh well, maybe v1.045 will be released soon. I'm hearing August but who knows anymore.
Take care and stay safe....

Well putting it On didn't help, still going on.

I'll just wait it out and hope this expensive piece of electronics improves.
Don't know if this helps, but we have v1.045 beta, due to other critical issues we were having.

We are new to IntelliCenter, so still learning. Hadn't gotten as far as trying to set Groups, much less Egg Timers for them, so thought we'd give it a try.

Created a Circuit Group, called "Quick Clean" to run the pump and cleaner for 30 minutes, to clean the pool prior to a swim.
Tested it by changing the time to 5 minutes, and clicked start. Pump started and cleaner started....after 5 minutes both turned off. Looks like it worked, although not sure if that is close to what you were trying to accomplish.

Never saw "Manual Op Priority" option. Assuming that means, when we set the time, it was in "Manual", not "Sunset" or "Sunrise". Also, selected "Show as Feature". Now, on front page, we click on "Features", and the "Group" is an option.

Peg,
Good job with the macro (CIRCUIT GROUP). For the most part, they work very well.

You can find Manual OP Priority (default is off), if you navigate to SETTINGS > SYSTEM CONFIGURATION > GENERAL SETTINGS. Scroll down to ADVANCED SETTINGS and there is where you will find it. Essentially it is supposed to mean that any manual input from the operator will override any current or scheduled activity or setting if there is a conflict between the two. But it really doesn't work as comprehensively as the Pentair documentation would lead you to believe. I discovered this fact over a year ago. So, I just leave it off for this reason because it can mess things up.

If you want a clearer understanding of "Manual OP Priority, and its limitations and misnomers, check out posts 27 through 30 of the following thread where it is discussed in more detail.

Take care...
