Opened to a green liner but water is pretty clear.

Ok, so picked up some 12.5% LC today and plopped two of the 128 oz jugs into the pool. After an hour I checked the FC level and it was MAYBE a touch above the color legend for 3.

I am starting to lean toward the FC test chemicals (which, again, I am replacing but will take a week to get here) have lost their efficacy. They are, at a minimum, 5 years old and likely more like 7.

Yeah, that's pretty old. I stretch mine 2-3 years but not recommended.

Had to be done.

Also, I noticed the filter pressure is understandably up after 18 hours of the cloud of doom started. Cloud is dissipating, but I am going to backwash. Can't be healthy for the system.

Should I add more shock to it when I go out there? Remember, I can't really tell the levels because I don't have the new reagents yet.

I would add the shock to keep things from getting worse. We know your CYA kind of so work off of that and thinking the green monster ate all of your FC and add enough chlorine to get up to SLAM level for your CYA.

The tablets/pucks add FC too slowly and not enough of it for some areas. You need to find some liquid chlorine. Look in Walmart in the pool section or see if a local pool store has it.
I will definitely get some. It's just that before I started using the tabs my friend donated to me, I never had these issues, at least not to this degree. Those Clorox tabs are terrible.
