Yeah, that's pretty old. I stretch mine 2-3 years but not recommended.I am starting to lean toward the FC test chemicals (which, again, I am replacing but will take a week to get here) have lost their efficacy. They are, at a minimum, 5 years old and likely more like 7.
I will definitely get some. It's just that before I started using the tabs my friend donated to me, I never had these issues, at least not to this degree. Those Clorox tabs are terrible.The tablets/pucks add FC too slowly and not enough of it for some areas. You need to find some liquid chlorine. Look in Walmart in the pool section or see if a local pool store has it.
