6x6 glass waterline tile. Would you turn each tile so the grooves go vertical and then horizontal or leave them all horizontal? Thanks guys!!

Is the wall it is going on higher or wider?
I would put the grooves in the longer direction. Depends which way you want the eye to follow.

Will water and debris get caught up in the grooves if you install it as pictured? If so, I would vote up and down as well.

I was going to suggest east/west like you pictured it just because I think as the water moves up and down it'll look very natural.
Hmm, good thought! The grooves aren’t too deep but I need to consider that!
Our initial thought was this way too since the water will be in that same direction.

I don’t think that is good for waterline tile no matter how you rotate it. Long term it will be difficult to keep clean at the waterline.
It is SO pretty!! If you do use it put it on the way you are holding it. I DO worry about cleaning it if it needs some scrubbing though but it might be worth it!!!
Horizontal for sure. You want to draw the eye to the width and length of the pool

Pools require a regular cleaning / brushing schedule - you are going to hate that tile in a year, no matter what direction you put them....
This is our first pool and I’m learning as I go, mostly from this great forum. The tile has been ordered so reading this gets me extremely nervous. Are you saying with regular brushing, I’m still going to have big problems with this tile? We purposely didn’t do 1x1 glass waterline tile due to the problems I read about upkeep. Is this something that is so bad I’ll have to pay to ship back and find a different tile? Eeek ? I’d appreciate your feedback and thank you!!

Look carefully at friends pools that are a few years old and see if you see waterline scale and scum line. Depending on your pools environment it is difficult to keep that area clean. Especially if the tile is not smooth. You often see the problem when rough stone is used on the face of spas.
If you follow TFP's water balanced guidelines and make a habit of hand cleaning that pretty tile with a soft brush you should be okay. It will be worth it as that is so pretty!!
Yes I sure will! I actually have the 2 recommended test kids sitting in my amazon cart right now! Do you recommend one over the other?
The TF-100 has more of the regents we use the most. I will also suggest you get it from the link in my siggy below as I KNOW their regents are fresh! We have seen many that come from Amazon being outdated

That tile will be fine just be aware its gonna need some upkeep. Be proactive and scrub it even when it looks clean
