Hey there. This is a general query, applies to anywhere, but with regards to makes/models - I am based in Australia.
I'm going around in circles trying to decide on a robotic pool cleaner and I'm looking for advice, thanks.
So I originally got interested in a robotic pool cleaner when a pool tech came around to service the pump, and whilst he was there he threw a Dolphin E10 in and the result was great. The pool tech said he doesn't bother with the wall cleaning models since the floor cleaner focuses effort where you want it, and you can always scrub the walls with a pole and brush if you really need to (which I already have, on occasion).
Pool is only about 8m x 4m, in ground pool, rendered concrete.
So the I was thinking of a step up from the Dolphin E10 and getting the Dolphin S200. But that's almost double the price, really just so that it can scrub the walls? Then if I'm correct then it's nearly half that again to get the S300i which allows you to select between a floor-only mode versus floor-and-wall. I'm thinking I'm not going to want it to clean the walls on every single clean- there will be mostly times when I only want it to pick up the dust and leaves from the floor.
So I've gone full circle and I'm leaning towards potentially just the floor cleaning Dolphin E10 or S50. Does anyone have experience with this? Am I wrong when all the pool cleaners talk about cleaning the walls and waterline, that I just don't see the point on this? I keep on top of my pool being chlorinated and the walls look clean to me (no algae) but maybe I'm missing something..? Thanks in advance.
