Beautiful! What direction is north in the plan picture?

They made pretty good progress for just 2 days of work. Rebar and plumbing are all done, retaining wall rebar all done. Looks like they are ready to shoot the gunite. Tried to post pics but its saying the file size is too big. Same camera settings as the other pics I've posted?

I see me so RED clay right there! Don't wear any of your "good" clothes near that stuff as that stuff STAINS and fast!

I am glad you found a way to share pics THANKS!

Have you taken your plans and a tape measure out there to make sure it is long, wide, deep enough? Add about 6" for the shell and plaster.

I have measured stuff every day. They had to come back and redo part of the retaining wall because it was too close to where the pavers will be. And yes the red clay can mess up a pair of clothes or shoes in a hurry

Well...wife just messaged me and said gunite has started. Today is day 8 but it's only been 3 days of work. Is this a normal timing? I know things will slow down after today.
Looking good! I like that they will shoot the retaining wall at the same time. That will be great.

3 days work out of 8 is above average! The subs just bounce around and get to places when they can/based on how loud/good the PB is at harassing/scheduling them. Some PB's can keep a good pace, many can not. And then there's weather. Most pools are done between the date they tell the owner and twice that. I think they assume sunny and 75, 7 days a week. That way the rain is always a valid excuse.

But yes, there is usually several days to several weeks of wait time after the gunite is shot to start on the coping.

@kimkats will be along soon with an important set of links for you. Including notes on watering the shell.

You rang?? LOL

It IS time for YOUR set of links. The first set is about how to get the best plaster job possible. The second set is about how to care for your pool once it is done.

Now is also a good time to ask what test kit your PB will be providing so we can fill in any holes.
