New Intelliflow Pump Error

TSC,

That is what the display is supposed to do when the Automation is in control of the pump..

If you unplug the control cable it will show the standalone pump display. Do not disconnect with any power on...

What automation do you have?

Make sure you set up this ScreenLogic set up page.. I always use the PC for programming it just works better for me.

You have to select the type of pump you have VS. VF, VSF And you have to add speeds to each circuit...


In the pic above you can see where I have a VS pump and have set the speeds that I want the pump to run when a specific circuit is on..

I set the pump to run at the minimum speed I want, and then turn on additional speeds as needed.. If I am in the pool mode the pump is running at 1200 RPM.. If I then turn on Skim Low circuit, the pump will speed up to 1500. If I then turn on the waterfall the pump will speed up to 2800. The pump will always run the fastest speed.. If I want to slow down, I have to shut off the higher speed circuits.

Play with it, you can't hurt anything,

I have a VSF pump, how do I know which citcuits I have on my system? Im still trying to figure out how everything works.

The EasyTouch comes with the following default circuits..

Pool
Spa
Aux1
Aux 2
Aux 3
Feature 1 through 8.

How your ET is wired determines what each circuit controls.. Just as an example.. If your pool light is wired to Aux1 relay, then that is the circuit that needs to be turned on to turn on the light.. Rather than just having to remember what aux 1 does, it makes sense to "Name" aux 1 "Pool light".

Look at the following ScreenLogic set up page... Look at the headings across the top.. Circuit, then Circuit Name, then Circuit Function.. If you look at the rows below the headings, you can see the relationship between the circuit, the circuit name and circuit function.

O ok I think I see now, when I installed my easytouch I saw lights were wired to aux 1. I think they wired spa as my pool pump so I guess thats where I think im getting confused.

If you have an IntelliFlo, it is not wired through any relay.

The relay in the upper left of your EasyTouch is called the Pump/Filter relay and would be used if you had a single speed pump, but not with a VS pump.

To be clear, the installer can make any relay be the pump/filter relay.. In most cases the installer does it correctly and uses the relay in the upper left, but some installers are lazy and use one of the other relays.. :(

I am not sure what you mean they used "spa" as the pool pump? How many pumps do you have?

I have only one pump. My pool is very simple. It consists of a IC40, Easytouch 4 and an Intelliflo VSF plu the screen logic 2.

I can take a picture of the inside of the easytouch tonight to show you

I should have opted for more features when I got the pool but at the time I was just excited that I could fit a pool in my yard.

I was also looking at a post you provided some useful knowledge in and noticed you posting this image. How do I get to this on my PC? I believe I might have answered my own question. I only downloaded one of those software. I will install the other one tonight.

I had the same problem.. My backyard is about the size of a postage stamp... :mrgreen:

I only have a waterfall, but hardly ever use it anymore, except when I want to increase my TA...

Things will start to make better sense when you program using your PC..

If you look back to my post #6, you can see where I named Feature1 "Skim Low" and Feature 2 "Skim High" You can name then anything you like..

Then, if you look back to post #4, you can see where I assigned speeds to the circuits now named Skim low and high..

Keep in mind that the ET will only use the highest speed selected.. So I have "Pool" set up to run the total time I want the pump to run.. and then just turn Skim High or Low on when I want them.. When I shut off skim high or low, the pump will go back to the RPM I set for pool.. Doing this means you much have Pool set to the lowest RPM you want to run.

thanks for answering all my questions, I really do appreciate it. Going to get everything configured this weekend. I was also looking at the H2 Flow Control to assist in the calculations of flow. Would you recommend something like that?

For example... If your SWCG needs 25 GPM to close the flow switch, just slowly increase your RPM until the switch closes and add 100 RPM to be safe.

If you are worried about pool water turnovers, you do not need to be.. The idea that you have to turnover your pool water x times a day to prevent algae is just a myth. Chemicals keep your pool sanitized, not the number of times water passes through a filter.

I have a VS only pump, but if it turned into a VSF pump by magic, I would still only use the VS option.. I like simple.. :mrgreen:

I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing out on something. I really want to get the most out of my system and make it as efficient as possible.
