Freeze protection question

Just curious, does the freeze protection take precedence over any schedules? Ashed another away, if the circuit is not defined as “freeze protection ON” and the freeze protection is ON will that circuit not come on even if it is on the schedule. For instance, this morning my Spillway is set to come on based off my everyday schedule. It is defined in circuits as Freeze Protection OFF. The freeze protection came on as it was 30 deg this morning however my spillway never came on. I’m assuming this is why?
 
Freeze protect always takes precedence.

In my pool, only my slow skim circuit has F/P set to ON so that when we get overnight lows, the POOL circuit isn’t running all night (higher speed). I also keep the POOL/SPA F/P option set to off because I don’t want the valves cycling every 15mins. However, I live in a location where we rarely ever get more than a few overnight hours of freezing air temps. So I could easily disable all F/P options and not worry about it.

Freeze protection needs the same valves as your spillway... In a case like that I would assume freeze protection would always take priority..

For other things it should not matter.. If, for example, you had your pool light on a schedule.. I would assume that it would come on, no matter what freeze control was doing..

Actually, I think you can set FRZ PROTECT to ON for the lighting circuit and the pool lights will come on when the temperature drops below 36F. That can be a useful reminder that your pool pump is running during a cold snap.

The OP was asking why his spillover did not work with freeze control off... :mrgreen:

But to your point... You can assign freeze control to any circuit. I have an outlet in my shed that comes on with freeze control.. It turns on a small oil heater... It just keeps the room above freezing. My pump runs 24/7, so it does not need freeze control.
