Yes, new construction.

Everything from them is branded for them. It's the Hayward product, but branded for them to be "smart" this and that. I don't know why. But that's what they do.

Press the Menu until, Configuration Menu-Locked appears. To unlock, press and hold the (<) & (>) keys until the text on the display changes from Locked to Unlocked.

We don’t care about step 5 and TC. You test for FC and CC and log then separately in PoolMath

The display salt level will vary. It tells you what the cell calculates the salt to be and not what it really is.

Do you have a suggestion on what to turn the SWG down to? It's on 50% right now.

By the sound of it, we need to get the FC down, CYA up, and then adjust anything else? Then retest pH? But FC has to come down on its own, right? So that could take time?

Next time you check FC you can check CC.

Your T-15 cell running at 50% for 24 hours a day is giving you 5.5ppm of chlorine a day. Way more then you need.

At 10% output the T-15 will generate 1.1 ppm a day. Lower it to 10%.

Let your FC drift down to 5. It should do it within a day or two with no CYA in Florida. When you get FC around 5-7 then you raise the % to 20%-30%.

Get stabilizer into the water for at least CYA 60. This time of year your pool should use 2-3 ppm of chlorine. That would be a 20%-30% SWG setting.

With your setup raising or lowering SWG by 10% makes a 1 ppm change in chlorine output.

Is your pool in a cage or fully outdoors?

Thanks! We just dropped it to 10%.

It is fully outdoors. We have a net cover over it currently because we have a huge oak tree and others that are messy and are dropping what we can only believe is a bumper crop of acorns since September!

So, first steps after adjusting the SWG---- let the chlorine drop to 5, then add CYA to 60, and then re-adjust the SWG setting to the 20%-30%?

Add stabilizer ASAP to get CYA to 60 while FC is dropping. Once FC is approaching 5 increase the %. Don’t wait until exactly 5. If you see 7 its time to increase the SWG by 10%. I don’t want your FC dropping below your minimum of 3.

Test your FC with the DPD test at least twice a day monitoring it. Log all of your tests in PoolMath so we can see the rate FC is dropping.

Once FC is 7 or below we will get back to pH and TA.

Found the temp feature. I had to enable it. 66 degrees.

I can't seem to find anything in the app for pool temp. I'm using Android. Maybe it's not a feature I have?

On another note---- calcium. It's still a little low. Should I try and get that up a little to at least 250? I got it from 90 to 225 within the last week 1/2 but am still curious if it's too low.

225 is close enough to 250 for now. Work on one thing at a time. CH Is ok for now and can wait.

Let’s get FC and CYA into the range and stable. Then you work on pH and TA. Later on you can work on CH and CSI water balance.

One thing to watch is what water temperature your SWG shuts down at. Around 50F water temperature the display will say COLD and the SWG will shutdown. The output is scaled back to 20% at 60F and output completely stops at 50F. If your water gets that cold you will need to chlorinate with liquid chlorine.

CYA-do NOT follow the directions on the bottle (pouring it into the skimmer/filter). Put it in a sock or pair of stockings making sure there are no holes. I like the socks better as there is less chance of any falling out. I tie mine off and hang it in front of the return with the pump on. You can squeeze the sock to help it speed up the dissolving if you want. Some people put the sock in the skimmer making sure to not block the flow water. If you do this you MUST keep the pump running.

I remember you telling me how you do it, and I've also been hearing the sock in the skimmer. I forgot who I asked this to, but they said to not put CYA in the pool water. Or I may be getting confused because there's a lot of info and stuff I've been learning/trying to learn ?

I got some yesterday and have to add 5 lbs of it and I'm not sure how all of that will fit into a sock very well, so I may need to do two, or two doses, separately.

Our pump runs 24/7 so it's always on right now.

I appreciate the tips and guidance so much you guys. You're the best! ??

Adding CYA in two or 3 batches is fine. I usually hang socks in front of 2 returns and get 2 going.

I use two socks when I need a large amount. It IS best to sneak up on the final level as if you go over you have to drain and replace some water so..............aim for low and add as needed.

When you have added aka it is all dissolved wait for a day or so for it to get all mixed in good.
