I suggest you read ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry, download PoolMath, enter your chemistry, and determine your Calcium-Saturation-Index-(CSI)
If you follow Recommended Levels - Trouble Free Pool you will not be.
Ok so now the light comes on. Thank you for the explanation. If the CSI IS CORROSIVE then the water is corrosive.

Better terminology is when CSI is below -0.6 the water chemistry is aggressive to etching plaster.
All pools have those things. They should be maintained within ranges.

I forgot to say that a CSI down to -0.3 is not corrosive enough to concern yourself with, so it's not all bad!
Well then mine is at CSI -.22 with PH 7.6, Alk60, CH425, CYA60, FC6.0, water temp 64, so I added 3/4 gallon chlorine.
